Understanding pinworms & how to manage it naturally

What are pinworms?

Pinworms are the most common intestinal worms that infect humans that can be infected between close proximity with other people. The common symptom is rectal itching that occurs at night. Female worms are active at night which crawl out the anus to deposit their eggs.

Environmental intervention:

Avoid scratching the anal region and change underwear on a daily basis. Wash hands thoroughly and keep nails short. Wash sheets, towels and clothes regularly to avoid reinfection. Understand that other people in the household might spread it to you again and they may require herbal treatment as well.

Dietary intervention:

Reduce eating foods high in sugar (chocolate, soft drinks) as it feeds the growth of pinworms. Eat a wholefood diet, with lots of garlic, onions, cinnamon as they have anti microbial and anti parasitic properties.

Herbal and nutritional intervention:

Consider a Weed & Seed protocol. Weeding involves a herbal formula made of anti microbial and antiparasitic herbs. (Thyme, Oregano, Garlic, Wormwood, Rosemary) Alternate this with a high strength probiotic at night. Die off symptoms include stomach pains, fatigue, loose stools, nausea. Weeding requires 10 days of herbal treatment with a 10 day break in between. Repeat this cycle 2-3 times in order to complete the die off process.
